George Nelson is the CEO of Louisiana Companies and Querbes & Nelson, which are independent Risk Management and Insurance Firms located in Shreveport, Baton Rouge, Lafayette, Lake Charles, and Austin, TX. George is also President of Life Insurance Company of Louisiana and involved with various Real Estate, Oil & Gas and Timber investments.
George was a Past Chairman of the Committee 100 and is currently Chairman of the Executive Committee of Centenary College, Chairman of the Northwest Louisiana United Way Campaign, Chairman of the Development Committee of PAR, and a member of Old State Capitol Advisory Board.
Over his career, George has served as Chairman of the Shreveport Symphony, Committee of 100 Shreveport-Bossier; Northwest Region of Premier Bank; Rotary Club of Shreveport; Chase Foundation, Sci-Port Discovery Center, United Way DeTocqueville Society, and the Public Affairs Research Council. He currently serves on the boards of the Pennington Foundation, the LSU Research & Technology Foundation and the Chase Foundation.
George and his wife, Clare, are Louisiana Natives and are the proud parents of 4 adult children, George, III, Catherine, Morgan and Spencer Nelson.
